Rishika Basak Supports OILS 2026 as Member of the Organizing Team

As part of the organizing team for the Open Innovation in Life Sciences (OILS) 2026 Annual Conference, Rishika contributed to this year’s event, taking place on 20 October 2026 at the UZH City Campus in Zurich and online.

Under the theme “From Bit to Bench: Shaping Sustainable & Ethical Innovation in Life Sciences,” OILS26 brought together researchers, industry professionals and innovators to explore emerging developments in artificial intelligence, sustainable laboratory practices, open science and advanced life-science technologies.

As a member of the Fundraising and Program Team, her roles included supporting grant and sponsorship applications to leading pharmaceutical and life-science organizations, including Novartis, Roche and AstraZeneca, alongside coordinating with invited speakers and supporting panel discussions.

By contributing to OILS26, Rishika gained first-hand experience in scientific networking, conference organization, and interactions with stakeholders across academia and industry, thereby complementing the interdisciplinary training provided within SFB TRR 387 UbiQancer and further developing skills that are increasingly important for a successful career in academic research.
