Functionalizing the Ubiqitin System against Cancer

Our Mission
Implications of the ubiquitin system in human cancer biology and therapy
We will generate a holistic discovery hub for the exploitation of functionalized vulnerabilities in the Ub-system (Research Area A) and the application of novel biological insights to either develop compounds directed towards validated Ub-targets or engineer degraders against central oncoproteins that typically evade functional inhibition (Research Area B). In line with our vision of enabling drug development and application to human diseases, both research areas are intrinsically supported by and integrated into three intertwined core projects (Z01-Z03).
